CINCINNATI, OHIO 06/18/2002
Just got home from the DIO CONCERT in Cincinnati!!! I still can hardly believe that it is over. Even after I heard it twice......? I did not yet write down the set list, mostly the same as what was said, but Push ROCKED, and the closing medley was Holy Diver into Heaven n Hell and an encore of Last in Line!!!....This was The BEST PART!!! No Rainbow in the Dark :-( Simon's solo was pretty good and not overly long. Really good show and Ronnie sounded GREAT, as I expect many of you will hear. I got a LOT of photos, and upon a quick scan, I see that some are keepers. I will post a few to The WE ROCK download area this weekend. I have a final test tomorrow and a web presentation I have to give on Sat, but after that, school is over, and I will get down to some real work....know what I mean??? The Scorpions ROCKED!!! Deep Purple was just a lot of noise.....that I heard while backstage. I want to thank a really GREAT Friend, who had backstage and told Ronnie I was there, and Ronnie gave him a pass for me. When I went back, he was no where to be found, so I was talking to Jimmy and explained that Ronnie gave me the pass. He told Ronnie I was there, and I got to go to the back patio and meet him there. We had a nice talk and he told me that the past is past, an not to worry about people who dwell on things that they know nothing about. He gave me a big hug, and told me that he will put me on the guest list for the next show I will be seeing soon. I can not say anything bad about the show, It ROCKED!!! But I really wish that Ronnie would drop We Rock & MOTSM & LLR&R. Although he did them flawlessly, There are so many other GREAT songs that we have not heard enough of. Opened with KTD and it seemed that most of the crowd got there early for this. It was packed and quite rowdy. The Scorpions got the biggest cheers, and I saw that most people had gone before DP was over. At least at the next show The Scorps will headline!!! I was lucky to not even have seen DP except on the projection screens. Even backstage they were just loud and mostly nose. I heard a lot of people saying they sucked. After talking with Ronnie, I went out through the area where the bus was parked. This time it appears that they all have new rides but they are all generic with no interesting paintings on any of them. They had a LOT of buses in the caravan. Many of the roadies were already bitching about how they had too much work to do.....an the tour has only just begun. It is just so amazing that Ronnie can do such a demanding tour like this, and then be looking forward to going right back out so we will get the headline show that we all are craving. What can I say?
